Supporting the educational integration of Ukrainian refugees into their new learning environments in Europe

About Project
The project EDUMENTORS4U – Supporting the educational integration of Ukrainian refugees into their new learning environments in Europe aims to provide appropriate and tailored support to grassroot professionals and volunteers and people who are assisting Ukrainian refugees on the ground, empowering them with the necessary resources and tailored practical tools to facilitate the educational integration of Ukrainian refugees into their new learning environments in Europe.
Ukrainian refugees need to count with specific help and guidance to make informed decisions towards education, lifelong learning and career opportunities, to count with a mentor able to understand their capabilities and interests and guide them accordingly.
Ukrainian refugees are the primary beneficiaries, but other groups of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers will also benefit from the project results.
We plan to reach also 36 stakeholders who might be interested in the results in the project at the local, regional, national and international level. They will take part in the pilot phase and attend international and national Multiplier Conferences, collaborating in the dissemination and mainstreaming of the project results and products.
The project will apply a holistic model for the educational integration of refugee students, taking into account three areas:
(a) Learning needs; (b) Social needs; and (c) Emotional needs.
All materials created by the project partners will be translated into 5 languages: English, Spanish, German, Polish and Slovak to make them more available to educators, mentors and refugees as well as stakeholders.
The project began in October 2024 and will run until September 2026.
It involves four organizations: Internationaler Bund Germany, INFODEF from Spain, Internationaler Bund Polska from Poland and Mareena from Slovakia.
All of them have experience of working with people who fled war-torn Ukraine after February 24, 2022, seeking refuge in other countries.
